Studios vacation rentals in South Beach Vacation are the most common form of short term rentals in the magnificent City of Miami Beach. There are several reasons that there are many studios used as vacation rentals in South Beach:

1- Miami Beach was built in the 20's, 30's and 40's as a seasonal resort destination. Most of the population at the time were tourists ( called also snowbirds) coming from the northern part of the US to spend the 3 to 4 months in sunny Florida. Miami Beach at the time was fashionable but was attracting tourists that were on a budget. Real estate developers of the era built small South Beach vacation condo rental units to respond to a high demand for affordable South Beach lodging.
2- Most recently in the 90's and 2000's real estate developers either rehabilitated older buildings and transformed them in condo-hotels. Condo hotels are lodging condos that are used like hotel rooms where owners can leave full time. They usually are small in size from SQF 200 to SQF 300 on average, even though if the last few years saw larger and very luxurious condo hotels being built.

South Beach vacation condo rental studios are being offered in " commercial buildings" either in hotels, condo hotels or apartment buildings that were grandfathered in offer short term rentals in South Beach. Some buildings are in the art deco district, some others are on commercial arteries such as Collins avenue or Ocean Drive.
