Miami International Airport (MIA) is the third busiest airport in the United States. The Airport hosts over 100 airlines that serve over 150 cities worldwide. With nearly 30 million passengers and 417,000 takeoffs and landings in a typical year, it is normal for 100,000 travelers to pass through the airport in a single day. More than 32,000,000 passengers traveled through the airport in 2006 alone! This airport is very modern and has all the amenities for the comfort of the travelers. The airport has a hotel, restaurants, convenient stores, duty free shops, coffee shops, and much more. Car rental companies offer their services in the airport where travelers can book or rent from luxury to affordable cars. Just 30 minutes drive to South Beach and 20 minutes to Downtown Miami, MIA is perfectly located in the heart of the city of Miami. Main highways are connected to the airport, providing easy access. Miami International Airport has 1 terminal building with 10 concourses (A – J). 

Driving directions:

From the North (Boca Raton, Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood, North Miami, and Palm Beach): Take I-95 South to State Road 112. Continue on the State Road 112 connector to the airport.   From the Southwest (Homestead, Kendall, and West Miami): Take State Road 826 North or the Turnpike North to 836 East. Exit at LeJeune Road northbound (NW 42nd Avenue) and follow signs to the airport.   From Downtown Miami: Take I-95 North to State Road 836 West. Exit at LeJeune Road northbound (NW 42nd Avenue) and follow signs to the airport.   From the South Beach Area: Take westbound MacArthur Causeway to State Road 836 West. Exit at LeJeune Road northbound (NW 42nd Avenue) and follow signs to the airport.   From Coconut Grove & Coral Gables: Take LeJeune Road northbound (NW 42nd Avenue) and follow signs to the airport.
The airport provides a series of services for the convenience of its travelers.


Concierge MIA:

Concierge MIA is a new MDAD program that embraces the principle that uniforms, training, service and physical environment must all communicate quality. Over 300 specially trained public contact staff will be ready and able to answer customers’ questions. Look soon for MDAD staff wearing colorful, distinctive shirts sporting the Concierge MIA logo pictured here to assist you. Tourist Information Center:

The Miami-Dade Aviation Department operates the Tourist Information Center located on Concourse E, Level 2, near the airport’s hotel. The counter is open from 5 A.M. to 10 P.M. daily, 365 days a year. Services provided include:


Multilingual airport and tourist information 
Multilingual interpreting and translation service 
Assistance with TDD phone at the Information Center 
Resolving customer complaints 
Providing change for customers ($100 cash available) 
Accepting lost items when Lost and Found office is closed

Paging & Information Center (PIC):

The Paging & Information Center provides multilingual paging throughout MIA’s terminal and concourses for MIA’s traveling public, tenants and users. To request a page, simply pick up any of the white courtesy phones located throughout the terminal. PIC also conveys informational and emergency messages as needed via MDAD’s public address system. In addition to paging, PIC also provides information and assistance to the public via MIA’s public number (305-876-7000)

Volunteer Information Program (VIP):

The Volunteer Information Program’s mission is to provide information and assistance to the traveling public. Volunteer Customer Service representatives, wearing the VIP logo pictured here on distinctive orange polos, circulate throughout the terminal, seeking out passengers in need of assistance. Lost and Found Facility:

MDAD’s Lost and Found staff will secure all found items and make every effort to locate their owners. The facility is located near the entrance of Concourse E, Level 2. For more information, please call 305-876-7377.

Tours 
Tours of MIA are offered to school children, to diversified groups such as organizations for the disabled, professional groups such as architects and engineers, and other groups with special interests.

Translation Service:

A translation Language Line is used by MDAD staff to access a translator for patrons whose language is not among those spoken by our multilingual staff. In addition to staffing MIA’s Information Counters, MDAD’s multilingual staff   provide interpreting and translating service throughout all public areas of the terminal and in the Federal Inspection facilities.


Trolley Service:

MDAD operates a trolley to help passengers transit long distances in the terminal complex. This service is provided free of charge. For more information, please call the Terminal Operations Division at

White Courtesy Phones:

Miami International Airport has over 100 white courtesy phones, located on columns throughout the terminal for the traveling public, tenants and users. The phones connect the user (no need to dial) to a MDAD employee who can provide information, assistance, and Airport-wide paging announcements. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
